9th May - arrivé à Limoges...

Journey from home to Limoges easy peasy and found a good camp site near the city (thank you Google).      Our first evening, and I eagerly started to unpack as Jeff leveled the caravan.   Next thing, the air was blue, I turned round and there was Jeff with half the jockey wheel handle in his hand.     It had snapped in half!     (We had just had it replaced a few months ago, so think it must have been a second hand part that was used).    Oh great.    Jeff said cheerfully, 'don't worry, I'll fix it'.    I looked around hopefully, 'had he brought a mini welding kit?'.
Then things turned slightly worse - we plugged the electric connector into the site hook up point - nothing!!    "OMG" wailed Jeff, "we can't even boil the kettle and I need a cup tea!!".      "Never mind that" I shouted against the rising wind, "have you seen the ants?".
So there we were, broken jockey wheel, no electrics, an army of ants marching towards the food cupboard and a fine mistral blowing up.... Oh fab!
By bed time, we had managed to fix the electrics with the aid of a very helpful camp receptionist (it must have been the way he walked) and a passing (also helpful) dutchman; also diverted the ants (now heading up the A20 for Paris).    All was well that ended well as we fell into deep slumber that night, except that wind and those ominous looking clouds... hmmm.
